VIVALDI Nisi Dominus RV 608; Stabat Mater RV 621
Philippe Jaroussky (counter-tenor), Marie-Nicole Lemieux (contralto),
Ensemble Matheus/Jean-Christophe Spinosi

Naive OP 30453 (CD)

A ravishingly beautiful CD, one to be enjoyed perhaps alongside the Stabat Maters of Pergolesi and A Scarlatti from the same company [http://www.musicalpointers.co.uk/reviews/cddvd/LentenNaive.html]
and Vivaldi's (from CDA66799) in Robert King's intégrale of his sacred music for Hyperion).

The two expert singers share the Crucifixus duet from the Credo (RV 592) and this period music ensemble, new to me, is a delight in their authentic timbre and springing rhythms.
