Duparc Mélodies (complete)

Mireille Delunsch (soprano), Vincent Le Texier (baritone), Guy Flechter (tenor), François Kerdoncuff (piano)

Timpani: 1C1053 [64 mins]

An important new recording of these precious songs, so few because Henri Duparc (1848 – 1933) ceased composing abruptly at age 37.

The main burden is given to Mireille Delunsch, 'a high-ranging soprano given depth and power by frankness, spacious phrasing, and virtuoso control of vibrato and dynamics' [BBC Music Magazine]. She is well supported by her colleagues.

You won't find better, and this release has the important addition of full texts and English translations, which we had been urging Timpani to do for some years...
