Jadassohn Piano Trios

Syrius Trio

Toccata TOCC 0107

Salomon Jadassohn (1831–1902) taught Busoni, Delius and Grieg at the Leipzig Conservatoire; he himself studied with Liszt. His own compositions, forgotten for a hundred years, are only recently attracting attention.

If you know what you like but prefer buying discs of music you don't know (and perhaps for home listening prefer chamber music to large orchestras), this disc will give great pleasure.

These three trios, in the German Romantic tradition, are impeccably crafted and given with confidence and elegance by the Syrius Trio.

I found them captivating, and have been playing this disc to anyone who'd listen. Don't miss it !
