Russian Piano Music Series - Vol 9 Murray McLachlan - piano divine Art dda251058 It is hard to keep up with the indefatigable, innovative virtuoso pianist and pedagogue Murray McLachlan, whose numerous premiere recordings have been followed in our review pages. Latest is Mieczlaw Weinberg, with three sonatas, the earlier Nos 1 & 2, and the later No 3 (1946). An early disciple of Shostakovich, these are welcome additions to the recital repertore, which should appeal to pianists who play the far better known sonatas of Shostakovich and Prokofiev. There are also attractive 17 Easy Pieces composed for the domestic market. All available to buy as sheet music.
