A welcome contribution to by a rare chamber music duo - (q.v. Sweden's Duo Gelland which plays numerous commissions).

Rawsthorne's Theme and Variations is the classic; McCabe's Spielend is a fine large scale work, Matthews' small duos make an enjoyable set.

This CD is carefully programmed and recommendable as something special.
