VOCES8

Signum SIGCD283

A gorgeous new CD of 18 well varied and sequenced a capella items, sung with joyous commitment and recorded over a leisurely 4 days last March.

I sought in vain for a criticism, looking first at the fold-up inset notes, thinking perhaps that the delightful 24X48 cm montage photo of the group was excessive, and that larger print for the words would have been better instead (c.f. my little campaign about unreadable CD inset booklets). But lo & behold, the smallish print (white against various coloured backgrounds) is perfectly readable; clearly Matt Banwell of Aptronym is something of a genius in his trade.

I can't reproduce that montage picture (which may find its way onto some purchasers' bedroom walls) so give another above. If you want to find out who is who of Voces8, see www.voces8.com/web/singers.

This is a real winner which everyone should enjoy.
