Osnat Schmool's Drive, Ride, Walk

This Bridewell Theatre Company show was first seen at the Tête à Tête Opera Festival (Riverside Studios, London, August 2007).

Osnat Schmool’s musical take on the rigours of today’s commuters and city workers was an outright unanimous winner of of the Bridewell Theatre Musical Theatre Development Project competition. Since then it has toured to unusual venues, attracting large audiences at hospitals, stores, London Transport Museum and St Pancras Station to name a few; see how widely the net was cast in the recent listings.

Today I caught up with Drive, Ride, Walk again at Goldsmith's College. The Great Hall was an ideal place to hear the a capella rendering of Osnat Schmool's score, but the Music Department had not advertised it widely around the college as a whole, so many students who would have enjoyed it didn't come... It still awaits performance in the full length version (c. 70 mins) which will have a linking story line to enhance the action narrative.

Tomorrow it can be seen lunchtime at Guy's Hospital Atrium, which ought to prove another ideal venue. If you miss that opportunity, towards the end of the current run, you can hear the choral songs at http://www.myspace.com/driveridewalkonline.
