PURCELL etc Gabriel by Samuel Adamson Dominic Dromgoole director Shakespeare's Globe, 20 July 2013 A thrilling genre-breaking afternoon with the best presentation of Purcell's music on stage I've ever seen or heard. Time does not allow immediately as full a review as it deserves. Happily all my feelings are seconded by an early review in The Telegraph, and I can do no better than quote part of it below and urge you to read it in full. Sadly, photographing there was strictly not allowed so I'v borrowed from the Guardian & the Telegraph. Readers: do urge The Globe to produce a DVD as quickly as possible ! Peter Grahame Woolf
