A well supported pre-concert by a remarkable accordionist who has helped to popularise his instrument, which is steadily increading concert presence and has inspired some fine compositions, including Podgaits' sonata today.

The main concert had a sensitive account of Mahler 4 under Askenazy. A good evening and it is encouraging to see increaing audiences for the early concerts.
