Aleksander Szram, Piano

Charlton House, London Lunchtime Piano Recital 19-Apr 2013

A pleasing recital at Charlton House's adjacent Old Library [R] to welcome Spring at late last !

Aleksander Szram reminded the large, loyal audience that he had last played there as a student ten years ago and congratulated them on their excellent new piano.

He introduced his items in informal mode, underlined by his apparel which was far more appropriate for midday than full concert rig, which can sometimes look wrong.

He was in great form for the quirky Alkan pieces (a reclusive composer of whom he'd made a special study - one who'd lain dead for days before anyone noticed) - Aleks warned his audience not to be afraid to laugh at some of the more humorous moments...
